SOME SPOILERS AHEAD

I REPEAT, SOME SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!

My favorite Movie/TV Show he has been in:

The Office (2005-2013)

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 81%

IMDB rating: 8.9/10

Where to watch: Peacock, Amazon Prime Video

I couldn't resist with this one. I had to go with my favorite television comedy of all time, "The Office". It is hard to imagine any character in this show being played by another actor, especially Michael Scott. Steve Carell truly was Michael Scott. I just don't see how anyone could've done it better. The show itself just had an amazing cast of characters, amazing writers (some of which were regular characters on the show), and it was so relatable with it taking place in an office setting. To this day I still watch repeats of this show and laugh just as hard, if not harder, at some of the jokes and humor. They were able to turn such a basic idea into an incredible show. On the surface, Michael Scott, seemed like an arrogant, unintelligent, horrible boss. But once the storylines dug deeper and you got to know Michael more, you couldn't help but to like him. He meant well and while that may not have always come across in his actions, he wanted what he thought was best for everyone. Now, was he always right in what he wanted for others? Definitely not. But, the show still made him likeable while at the same time making you feel embarrassed for him. Steve Carell has been in some great movies as well, but this to me will always be his best work. I'm sure he gets a little tired of being thought of as Michael Scott, but it's hard not to think of him that way as it is one of the most iconic characters of all time.

My rating:

This one is a no-brainer 10/10 for me. This show is just endless laughs and genuine moments from characters. If you're hesitant to watch this show because at first Michael Scott just seems unbearable, trust me, give it a chance. You will love Michael Scott before you know it.

My favorite Movie/TV Show he has been in that you may not have seen:

Crazy, Stupid, Love. (2011)

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 79%

IMDB rating: /7.4/10

Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video (included with Prime)

I have a feeling this one is more mainstream that I think. Nonetheless, if you haven't seen this one its worth a watch. Normally I'm not a big fan of romantic comedies, but this one actually has some really good laughs. Which I guess makes sense seeing as Steve Carell is the lead. Don't think the star-studded cast stops there though. Carell is joined by Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Marisa Tomei, and Kevin Bacon among others. This one is surprisingly funny for a romantic comedy. Steve Carell kind of balance each other out in this one with Carell being a somewhat subdued, nice guy and Gosling being a bit a of cocky guy. There is a hilarious fight scene near the end of the movie that will keep you laughing for quite some time. Definitely check this one out.

My rating:

I give this one an 8.5/10. It definitely exceeded my expectations for a romantic comedy and is surprisingly a really good movie. Although, I guess my expectations should have been higher with the amazing cast that was a part of this one.

Don't waste your time with this Movie/TV Show:

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2013)

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 38%

IMDB rating: 5.9/10

Where to watch: Amazon Prime

Steer clear of this one if you haven't seen it yet. And if you have seen it, try your hand at some magic to make it disappear from your memory. Going into this, my expectations were somewhat high seeing as this was yet another star-studded cast Steve Carell, Jim Carrey, and Steve Buscemi all played Vegas magicians. You get the normal laughs you expect from those three guys, but that was just about it in this one. The story wasn't great and for some reason the cast, while great, just didn't seem to gel together that well. This one just falls short of expectations. So watch at your own risk because this one will make time disappear unnecessarily.

My rating:
